Being Mindful

Embracing Changes

There are forces at work in your psyche which you cannot control.
They belong to a deeper and wiser part of yourself.
Sometimes it is essential to change an aspect of your life.
This is often the case if you are in a situation which is wrong for you or stagnating. If you resist change, your unconscious wisdom may give you a push by causing a disturbance in your life.
The shock you experience may therefore be a way of forcing necessary change on you.
– Sarah Dening

Change is the only real constant in our lives.  Energy is always in motion.

When we resist change, all we do is create discomfort for ourselves. We are always growing, and our perception is always changing.  When we try to remain steadfast in out perceptions when they're urging us to see differently, it creates pain.

When we go with the flow, and roll with the changes, and make the best of each situation while looking for solutions and comfort, we create an empowered and happy life for ourselves.

When we sit tight, insisting that we know everything, and we've reached our end, life tends to get more and more choppy around us.  Choppy and uncomfortable until our situation forces us into action and change.

Then once we change, our world levels out, and we find that peace and happiness again.  Even if only temporarily.  But our happiness is only temporary in this life model because we base our happiness upon our situation and circumstances.

Embracing the fact that life IS change creates an everlasting happiness that isn't dependent upon circumstances.  Knowing that change is ever coming toward you enables you to see your options and choose, instead of digging your heels in and refusing to move.

Change is exciting.  It's exhilarating to have endless options and choices, and the power to pick and choose and create.

Embrace your power to choose and change.  You have a guidance system inside of you to guide.  Allow it to show you the way.  It will never steer you wrong.

To Create, Not Change What's Wrong

In struggling against anguish one never produces serenity; the struggle against anguish only produces new forms of anguish.
– Simone Weil

This reminds me of Mother Teresa who declined to join a march against war stating that if they organized a march FOR PEACE, she'd be there.

We cannot make "bad" things stop or go away.  We CAN, however, make "good" things start or come closer.

This is a Universe of inclusion.  That means that all things are included.  If you're focused upon it, it will expand.

So, don't go out your door determined to STOP WAR.  Go out your door intending to bring peace.

Don't try to STOP DISEASE.  Instead, bring health.

Our life here is about creation.  We are creators.  It's what we do.

Now, knowing this, I want you to try to create "stop," or "don't," or "no."  You can't do it.  You simply cannot create those things.  What you will create is whatever subject comes after those words.

You will never create "stop hurting me" but you CAN create "love me."

The next time you feel like something's just not going the way you want it to, stop and consider what you want to create.  Not what IS or what shouldn't be or what you wish wasn't.... What do you WANT.

And then, for me at least (because I'm ALL about the higher power working through you), I ask for help from God.

God, please help me bring ____ into my life for the highest good of All.  Help me be this change and create joy and peace with it.  Thank you for all the wonderful blessings in my life.  I am eternally grateful and in love with it all.  Amen.

Don't ever pray; God, please make this stop.  God please take this away.  God please change what's wrong.
God wants to know what's RIGHT and what's GOOD and where your GRATITUDE is.  Whatever you're praying is assumed to be all those things.

Don't tell God his creations are wrong or unworthy or hated.  Just pour your blessings upon what is RIGHT and WONDERFUL, even if you can't see it all right now.

Tried & True

Meditation and prayer have withstood the test of time. They work today as perfectly as they did for those who first practiced and perfected them
- Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith

This is a great reminder as we enter a new year with our new resolutions to be new people.  To develop new habits and banish the old.

Ask for help.

Not from friends and family.  Not from counselors or teachers.  Ask God.

Meditate.  Find a little silence in your mind.  Create a connection to your creator and ask for signs.  Ask for guidance.  Ask for help.

Ask and it is given, as Abraham-Hicks says.
Or better yet...
Jesus said, "Ask and it will be given unto you. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and the door will be opened."

Pain or Paradise

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
– Albert Einstein

One must admit, if there's ANYONE who might know what they're talking about, it is likely to be Albert Einstein.  Seriously, with an IQ of like, 10 billion (snicker*), you sort of just assume.

Fortunately, I don't have to take Al's word on this one because I live the most miraculous life!

It wasn't always that way, though.  I spent the first twenty-six years of my life behaving as though life were happening TO me, from beyond my control.  And miracles were reserved for people in foreign countries where stone statues of Mother Mary wept blood.

I can understand why Albert would draw such a conclusions about life and miracles though, because when I realized that every moment is a miracle, for myself, it was after I began looking into quantum physics.

Once I realized that every "solid" thing in the Universe is NOT solid, and that the closer you look at something, the more expansive it becomes (looking into matter to find atoms and into atoms to find particles, to find subatomic particles etc..), I recognized that the true miracle of life isn't the forms that we see.  It's the organizing force that holds all these things together, causing them to preform specific functions and movements etc.

When you team up with that organizing force, and treat it as though it is necessary and loved and perfect and there to create WITH you, you begin to see everything around you as a miracle.

This laptop computer upon which I am currently typing these thoughts that I'm having, is a miracle.  How could it NOT be?  What are the chances that some HUMAN could have the thoughts that would lead them to create such an amazing and complex piece of technological machinery?

And that thought I just had, in the above paragraph; Where did that come from?

If I were to lie down in a CAT scan machine, you might be able to see chemical reactions in my brain that signify the processing of a thought, but no one has ever figured out exactly where the thought itself comes from.

It's all miraculous.  Never mind the miracle that IS a CAT scan.

I also look back through my past at people I've met and places I've been and "tragedies" that have occurred, and can see how every single step, no matter how minuscule and insignificant, has lead me somewhere I'd have otherwise not gone.  And had I not gone there, I couldn't have made it HERE.

Something really beautiful happens to your life when everything you see becomes a miracle.  When you contemplate all things in awe and adoration, instead of disgust and irritation.

The more disgust and irritation you observe, the more disgusting and irritating your life will feel to you.
But if what you are observing and convinced of is purpose, miracles, and God (aka. that organizing force/space in between), then the more purpose filled, miraculous, Spiritual your life will feel to you.

How do you want to feel?
The beauty of Life is, it's completely up to you.

All Necessary

We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.
– Mother Teresa

I Love ANY quote that helps to embody the concept that, we are ALL individual and necessary.  No one is irrelevant or useless or not good enough or making no difference.

Everybody is part of the whole and necessary to the evolution of that whole.

Every person on the planet is irreplaceable and this world would not, nay- COULD NOT be the same had their presence not been known.

Honoring God AKA Yourself

That you may retain your self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong.
– William J. H. Boetcker

About William J.H. Boetcker from wiki.

I believe this 100%

This is what I feel is the definition of living an authentic life. Want to see magick in your life?  Make this your personal motto.

There is so much that people say they want or say they believe or say they feel.  But when given a situation to act in a way that is authentic and congruent to what they say, they often act out in a shallow, unconscious way that doesn't honor their true self at all.

Be true to you.

Space for God

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose.
– Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Practicing the art of quieting my mind and being completely present in the moment has become one of my favorite things to do.  The space that fills the "empty spaces" takes on almost a solid quality.  The spaces in between become of substance and alive.

That solid, substantial, alive emptiness is God.

Maybe I'm crazy, but that's how I feel when I sit and become completely present with It.  And all things manifest come from the emptiness, right?  I mean, all THINGS began as NoTHINGS didn't they?

And scientists say that proportionately speaking, the distance between the atoms in our bodies is comparable to the distance between the stars and galaxies.  So I've come to think of God and the consciousness that exists in the spaces in between.  The intelligence responsible for pulling the pieces into an ordered form that I recognize, and holding it there.

A sock is a sock because the atoms and particles are all pulled together in THAT specific pattern and are held there, in suspended animation so that I may observe a sock with my sensory perceptions.

What is it in the space that tells the pieces where to go and stay?

But the funny thing is, the deeper into things scientists go; The tinier the particle, the more space they find inside.

So this has become my understanding of God.  God is in all things to the deepest extent, and yet all things are IN God at the very same time.  And I've formed this conclusion by sitting in complete silence and observing and occasionally contemplating the space in between.

And if at the root of my nature, my consciousness, my soul, I too am that space, that pulsing, aware, divine space, then I have much more control than I can realize.

I believe the true purpose of all things is to bring me closer to realizing.  To compel me to contemplate the Space until I Am.

Seems logical to me that once that point is reached, things lose their purpose and meaning beyond pleasure and happiness.  Once you've suffered enough to go into the Space, you realize that, only that could be the purpose.

Eden

Lord, the air smells good today, straight from the mysteries
within the inner courts of God.
A grace like new clothes thrown
across the garden, free medicine for everybody.
The trees in their prayer, the birds in praise,
the first blue violets kneeling.
– Rumi

This one really spoke to me this morning.

When was the last time you inhaled deeply and actually appreciated the breath you take.  Appreciated the smells and the purity.

For this, THIS IS the kingdom of God.  We are standing in the royal court; Subjects unto the Divine.  All that we behold is gilded perfection, emanating richness and glory.

All the trees know this as they stand tall, thoughtless, and at one with God, majestic and silent as though hushed in a prayer of love and exaltation.

Birds are ever praising in joy, swooping and soaring.

Even the flowers seem to shine in gratitude for their moment of glory.

And the amazing grace that makes it all is everywhere and nowhere.  Within and without.  It flows through all, like the air we breathe.  It is the hug that encircles you not with arms but with love.

Not a romantic love, but a soul deep acceptance of all that is, as it is... because it is exactly as it should be and it is always good.  You are always good.  You are always accepted.

I know.  It's in the air.  All the healing you need is right there for you.  Breathe it in.

Remember Yourself

Remember that you are this universe and that this universe is
you. Remember that all is in motion, is growing, is you.
– Joy Harjo

A beautiful reminder on this gorgeously snowy Sunday New Moon.

Nothing ever stays the same.  Everything is constantly moving and changing and evolving.  Often it is a longing for the unchanged that makes us feel most miserable.  When a lover leaves or when a loved one dies, we resist the change and create our own misery within it.

Let go and let God.

Allow the Source of all creation to move along Its own evolution.  YOU are part of that evolution and an integral part of everything that's come and will come.

Remember that it's that Universal growth that is pulsing through all things and pushing the entire Universe toward evolution.  That's the "big picture."

The smaller picture is you.  Only you are not small, my friend.  You are evolution, become aware.  You are a tiny fraction of God who bears the full awesome power of God and you sit on the unfolding edge of creation, creating that which of yet, is not.

You are made of love and light and it is these ingredients that you will be most in love with sharing. Go forth and be in love.  Deeply in love.

For it is your Universe.  It is You.
