Daydreams, Nightmares, & Fantasies, Oh My!

Fantasies are more than substitutes for unpleasant reality; they are also dress rehearsals, plans. All acts performed in the world begin in the imagination.

Ten years.

That's how long it's been that I've been on this path, how long I've been a seeker.

On my path, and TONS of similar paths, it is well known that, we get what we think about, and that goes for daydreams and fantasies too.  Even in the Bible it speaks of being pure of mind.

Still I will sit here and see terrible things play out in my mind.  Still I will see all the ways my current venture could go wrong.

It's funny how we do that.  It's funny how we can know the truth and yet sill indulge the lie from time to time.

I wonder if Jesus imagined for a moment what it would be like if Roman Guards came to arrest and persecute him?  Or if Ghandi entertained being beaten when he was standing up for non-violence?

Do not mentally entertain anything which you do not also wish to entertain in your living room.
I do believe that's my new motto.
